Caving in Derbyshire is an excellent all-year-round outdoor adventurous activity. Whatever the weather and there is a cave to suit all ages and abilities. All Derbyshire caving activities are lead by an experienced instructor. More importantly, they have an amazing knowledge of the cave system or mine you are exploring. As well as this they usually have a few stories to tell.
Peak District caving venues are a variety of natural cave systems and old lead mines. You will get the chance to explore this amazing subterranean world. Caving is a great activity where it gives you the opportunity to escape the hustle and bustle of the outside world. The sound of silence is truly golden. Derbyshire caving gives you plenty of variety. Firstly you could have the chance to explore passageways created by natural streams. Secondly, they could be passageways cut from the rock by the lead miners of yesteryear. In some venues, there is also the chance to see waterfalls and follow the stream leading into the cave. This is a great way to experience how the cave has been formed over millions of years.
Caving in Derbyshire is an excellent activity to combine with one of our other exciting outdoor activities in the woodland. There is a cave venue within a 10-minute drive from the woodland site. This gives you the chance to take in one of the cafes in the area for lunch. Chips in Matlock Bath are usually very popular.
Specialist Caving Courses
We also offer specialist Derbyshire Caving courses. With a maximum ratio of 1:4. This enables you to learn specialist skills and discover places you do not usually get a chance to see. However, the cost for specialist courses is different from our normal caving price and is subject to availability.
