Primary School Activity Days and Outdoor Learning.
Our bespoke range of primary school activity days includes Problem-solving challenges, Archery, or Orienteering. Using the school grounds we can set up any number of activities that help to challenge the children. We believe it’s a great way to see them work together, testing their communication and co-operation skills. These sessions can be run as either a regular PE session or on-site school activity days. Our instructors have many years of experience working with primary children and have their own unique way of delivering the sessions. We find our sessions are an excellent way to help with the understanding of Topics. Also with special weeks such as Healthy Eating or Science. The sessions are designed for all ages and abilities ranging from Reception to Y6.
“you see a different side to a child when they are learning outside the classroom. Also, everyone has a level playing field within which to succeed”
The benefit of running Problem-Solving activities is they allow larger numbers to take part, making it very cost-effective. Challenges are set to suit the physical environment available but are also tailored to meet the school’s objectives. Team games can include aspects of the national curriculum and focusing on motor skills, logical thinking, and working together.
On-site Archery can be enjoyed all year round. Also, archery is a skilled sport that helps you with hand-eye coordination and motor skill technique. It can be thoroughly rewarding for the individual but can be made competitive when played in teams against each other. Because archery use soring it also tests a child’s mental maths and strategic thinking as well.
What a great activity to enhance Maths and Geography lessons. For instance, it keeps the children active and they can discover areas of the school they didn’t know existed. Also there is so much more to orienteering activities than maps. We have our own unique programme to help teach the skills needed. Because these sessions can be run over the duration of a half-term they make an interesting sporting alternative.
